But why vanilla, you may ask, and what makes it so special? Let's dive into the charm of vanilla and why it is at the heart of Prema Vanilla Farm's mission.
So, why vanilla?
The choice to venture into vanilla farming was no snap decision. It was born from a deep love for Madagascar and a desire to create meaningful change. The lush landscapes and unique offerings of this island have always intrigued us. But what makes vanilla stand out and make it the perfect choice?
Versatility and Universality: Vanilla is not only a taste but also a journey of scents with shades of cream, caramel, and flowers. Its universal appeal spans a wide range of industries and stands for taste, aroma, and quality. In the kitchen, vanilla enriches both sweet and savory dishes and adds a wonderful aroma to ice cream, baked goods, and drinks. Not only in culinary applications but also in perfumes and cosmetics, vanilla adds charm and creates enticing scents. Vanilla oil is blended with sandalwood, rose, balsam, and herbal scents. This mixture makes the body smell wonderful and is considered to be one of the great aphrodisiacs.
Historical and cultural significance: Vanilla was first cultivated by the Totonacs, the indigenous people of Mexico, who considered it a divine gift. Later, it won the hearts of Europe's elite and became a favorite ingredient in ice cream.
Therapeutic and healing properties: In addition to its taste and smell, vanilla can have healing properties. In aromatherapy, it is believed to be calming and stress-relieving. Studies show that vanillin, the main compound in vanilla, has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
Vanilla's charm goes beyond the senses. Whether it's vanilla ice cream on a hot day or the soothing scent of a candle, vanilla's journey into our daily lives is a long one, requiring a lot of hard work, dedication, and skill. We invite you to immerse yourself in the wonderful process of growing vanilla, its long journey, and the delicate art of farming it.
